脴rsted has appointed wind power industry veteran David Hardy as new chief executive of its North American offshore unit.
Hardy will replace Thomas Brostr酶m with immediate effect, having previously served as the division鈥檚 president and chief operating officer.
He will oversee all of 脴rsted鈥檚 offshore wind activities in North America, including development and operations for the company鈥檚 existing US portfolio.
Brostr酶m, meanwhile, is due to relocate to Europe to join oil and gas major Shell as senior vice president for global renewables solutions.
脴rsted owns the US's first offshore wind farm 鈥 the聽30MW Block Island project off Rhode Island 鈥 and developed the聽12MW Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind (CVOW) - Pilot 聽project. It is helping to develop at least a further 4.2GW, according to 搖錢樹娛樂城 Intelligence, the research and data division of 搖錢樹娛樂城.
Prior to joining 脴rsted, Hardy held US and global senior executive roles at both Senvion and Vestas, as well as senior sales roles at GE.
Brostr酶m had spent nearly 11 years with 脴rsted, including five years as its North American president and CEO of its US offshore unit.
脴rsted added that Brostr酶m 鈥渨ill be relocating to Europe for a renewable energy leadership role with a global energy company鈥, in the coming months.
