Vestas wins supply deals for entire Danish auction

Vestas has won turbine supply agreements for the entire 135MW allocated to wind developers in Denmark's technology-neutral auction in 2019, after securing a new 63MW order.

The order includes nine Vestas V136-4.2MW and seven V126-3.45MW turbines

The manufacturer will supply, install and commission 16 turbines for two co-located wind and solar projects owned by Eurowind Energy with a combined capacity of 63MW.

It had previously announced orders to repower two 36MW projects that developers Wind Estate and Blue Renewables secured capacity for in last year’s tender.

Wind projects successful in the auction secured contracts at close to subsidy-free prices, which ranged between DKK 10-19.70/MWh (€1.34-2.64/MWh) with a weighted average of DKK 15.40/MWh (€2.06/MWh).

Vestas will provide seven V126-3.45MW turbines, in 3.6MW power optimised mode, for Eurowind Energy’s 25.2MW St. Soels Ìýproject in central Jutland.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin by the end of 2020 ahead of commissioning in Q1 2021.

The project will also include an 18.9MW solar PV component, for a combined 44.1MW of capacity.

Vestas will also supply nine V136-4.2MW turbines to theÌý37.8MW Veddum Kær Ìýproject, also in central Jutland.

Deliveries are set to begin in Q2 2021 with commissioning planned for Q3 2021.

The project will also include 15.2MW of solar PV, taking its total capacity to 53MW.
