There are 40 states with wind capacity now operating, according to the figures from “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the research and data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç.
However, over half of the capacity is installed in just four states, with over a quarter in Texas alone.
The same four states are set to continue dominating the landscape, even with the phase-out of the Production Tax Credit (PTC) at the start of 2020.
But with offshore wind, , set to make a splash, and other states looking to cash-in, a wider geographic spread can be expected in the next decade.
