GERMANY: Wpd is considering selling an equity stake in the company worth at least $1 billion and could even sell the entire company, according to media reports.

Wpd has 4.4GW of installed capacity in 18 countries worldwide

The developer is apparently considering a number of options to "meet its growing cash needs", according to a report by financial newswire .

These deliberations may not result in a transaction, the unspecified sources claimed.

“uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç approached wpd for further comment, but the developer declined our request for a statement.

Wpd did, however, announce its intention to source 60 onshore turbines to install in Taiwan by 2020. It has not disclosed any further details of future onshore projects in the south-east Asian country.

The company has 383.7MW of operational projects and a further 520MW of planned wind farms in Taiwan.

It was in securing 1,058MW of capacity across two offshore wind projects off the Taiwanese coast.

Wpd said it was "in advanced discussions" with manufacturers and suppliers for its 708MW Yun Neng and 363MW Li Wei sites, and it aims to secure contracts by the end of 2018.

A spokesman added that it does not intend to sell development rights in its Taiwanese projects.
