Deutsche Windtechnik opens US unit

UNITED STATES: German multi-brand service provider Deutsche Windtechnik has opened a business unit in the "healthy" US market.

The firm said it set up the US business in late 2017 following "high demand and initial succesful discussions" with operators. It will be based out of Houston, Texas. 

Deutsche Windtechnik said has added to the operation and administration team in the US.

"With its strong multi-brand expertise, the company can offer completely new options for operators and investors," said Melf Lorenzen, managing director of Deutsche Windtechnik's new US unit.

The firm claims it can service "almost all common turbine types" from Vestas, Siemens Gamesa, Nordex and Senvion models, including legacy turbines such as Neg Micon and Bonus. 

Matthias Brandt, director at Deutsche Windtechnik, added: "The healthy competition stimulates the market, and this not only leads to lower prices but also to better service performance and new products."
