Suzlon wins 500MW order for auctioned projects

INDIA: Suzlon has received 500MW of orders for two wind farms that were awarded contracts in the country's 2GW federal auction in February.

Suzlon will supply 238 turbines for the two projects located in Kutch in the wesrernmost state of Gujarat

It will supply 238 units of the 140-metre high variant of its turbine for a 300MW site and a 200MW site in Gujarat, India’s westernmost state.

The manufacturer will build both projects on a turnkey basis for the same developer and provide operation and maintenance (O&M) services at each site in Kutch in the north-west of Gujarat.

Suzlon has not disclosed the developer or the period covered by the O&M contract.

The developer won the capacity in the third SECI (Solar Energy Corporation of India) auction, Suzlon stated, which was for 2GW and was concluded in February.

Winning prices were INR 2.44kWh ($0.038/kWh) — one cent-per-kilowatt-hour more than the all-time low price in the Gujarat state auction in December.

Developers ReNew Power won 400MW, Green Infra won 300MW, manufacturer Inox Wind won 200MW, and energy firm Torrent Power took 499MW at the INR 2.44/kWh tariff. Adani Green and Alfanar won 250MW and 300MW respectively at INR 2.45/kWh.
