Engie buys US developer Infinity Renewables

UNITED STATES: Engie's North American subsidiary has acquired wind and solar developer Infinity Renewables and its 8GW-plus pipeline for an undisclosed sum.

Infinity Renewables' portfolio includes the 250MW Roosevelt site in New Mexico, which was commissioned in 2015

Infinity’s wind  comprises more than 1.6GW of operational projects, and over 6.6GW of sites at various stages of development.

Engie North America said it intends to retain Infinity’s entire workforce and work alongside the developer to build, own and operate its pipeline of 24 projects in Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Texas.

Frank Demaille, Engie North America’s president and CEO, said: "With Infinity Renewables, Engie is investing in an experienced, accomplished development team.

"By adding more wind energy to our other retail, solar and biomass offerings in the US, we can meet customers’ renewable energy procurement goals much more comprehensively than before."
