The Sprogø project went online in 2009, just prior to Denmark hosting the COP15 climate conference in Copenhagen, and comprises seven Vestas V90-3MW turbines on concrete gravity based foundations.
The owners are selling the site through an open tender to focus on its core business of infrastructure and payment management, Sund & Bælt said. Sund & Bælt own the nearby Great Belt Bridge.
The turbines are installed in water depths of six to 16 metres, and roughly 450 metres apart.
In March 2015, Vestas' offshore joint venture, MHI Vestas, signed a three-year extension to the operations and maintenance contract for the Sprogø project, with the option of a further year.
