The Climate Group, organiser of the RE100 programme and Climate Week, has announced four new major signatories to the scheme, which commits companies to sourcing 100% of their operations from renewable power.

Make up and cosmetics group Estee Lauder plans to achieve 100% goal by 2020, it is currently 45% powered by renewables.

Breakfast cereals producer Kellogg is targeting all renewables by 2050, with an interim target of 40% by 2020. It currently sources around 20% from green power.

Asian financial services firm DBS Bank did not set a date for full renewable power. However, it has an interim target of sourcing all power from renewable sources for its Singapore operations, which takes up 65% of its global total, by 2030.

Finally, American organic food and drinks producer Clif Bar & Company have been purchasing renewable energy certificates equal to 100% of its operations for the last ten years, but is now looking at ways of sourcing renewable power directly.

According to The Climate Group, the 106 members of the RE100 campaign, including Apple, Facebook and Google, now have a total demand for renewable electricity of around 150TWh annually. "More than enough to power New York State," The Climate Group said.

"Renewable power makes business sense, and corporate leadership is absolutely key to delivering on the Paris Agreement at speed," The Climate Group's chief executive officer, Helen Clarkson, said.
