Estonian wind power up 36%

ESTONIA: The nation's wind fleet produced 333GWh of electricity in the first half of 2017, up 36% year on year, according to state-owned utility Elering.

Enefit's Narva Windpark consists of 17 wind turbines with a total capacity of 39MW

Major wind project owner Enefit Renewable Energy said its 111MW, four-project portfolio increased production by 37% compared to last year to 107GWh.

The growth was the result of stronger wind conditions and an increase in reliability, Enefit manager Aavo Karmas said.

Enefit's projects provided 32% of Estonia's wind production in the first six months of 2017.

Enefit's parent company, state-owned energy company Eesti Energia, reported revenues of €177 million in the first half of this year, an increase of 19%. This was in-part due to increased electricity production.
