Suzlon wins 50MW order from new market entrant

INDIA: Suzlon has won an order from Saudi Arabian group Alfanar Energy for its first Indian wind project.

Suzlon will provide 24 turbines to Alfanar Energy's first Indian wind project

Suzlon will provide 24 S111 2.1MW turbines to a 50.4MW project in India, due online in March 2018.

Specific project location has not been disclosed. Suzlon will deliver the project on a turnkey basis. The turbines will be installed on 90-metre steel tubular towers.

The Alfanar Group, based in Riyadh, is targeting 2.2GW of renewable energy capacity by 2022 in India, the Middle East and Africa, with a focus on wind, solar and biomass.

Alfanar is an electric equipment and infrastructure construction company including power generation and high voltage transmission projects in Saudi Arabia.
