Vestas will supply a further six V112-3.45MW turbines to the Slufterdam project near The Hague, after previously winning a deal from Eneco project partner Nuon to supply eight of the same turbines for the first phase of the project.
The Slufterdam repowering site will replace 17 GE (Enron) 1.5MW turbines with the new Vestas machines, which have the added power mode option boosting output to 3.6MW.
The resulting project will increase output from 25.5MW to 50MW from 14 turbines.
Delivery and commissioning of the 14 new turbines is expected in the second half of 2018, following the decommissioning of the existing machines, which started ast month.
There has been a wind project on the site since 1992, when 12 500kW turbines were installed, before being replaced in 2003 with the 1.5MW units.
