Aerodyn unveiled a model of the design at the the Offshore Wind Energy 2017 exhibition in London (6-8 June).
"The market is asking for larger turbines, larger than 10MW, and due to our experience we don't think a single turbine with a larger installed capacity than 10MW will really be an advantage in the cost of energy," Siegfriedsen explained.
"It is the first time a design offers an integrated system, where you put the turbine and floater together. The turbine is optimised for the floating system and the other way around.
"We are here because we believe this system can be built, and we have solved all the problems," Siegfriedsen said.
He said the model would undergo further tests in a water tank before developing a 1:6 ratio scale model to be placed in real-world conditions, potentially in Ireland for futher evaluation.
