The 99-turbine Wieringermeer project in the north of the country was due to see 93 older turbines replaced with modern, larger rated machines.
Nuon received notice from network distribution company Alliander that the deadline to connect the new turbines to the grid in July 2018 could not be met and would now not be until Q2 2019.
Alliander used to be a part of the Nuon group.
"For Nuon this delay means a tedious hitch. We've been preparing and, unfortunately, have been told this spring that the power supply is delayed," said project mananger Gerard van Oostveen.
"Last year we had already started making various preparations. Many of the old wind turbines were spread over several wind farms and have been sold to other parties. These have already been removed.
"Moreover, we already launched a tender for new wind turbines. This means that our planning will also move significantly and that the construction of the wind farm will start later," Oostveen added.
Tendering for the new turbines will be delayed while Nuon waits for a more specific date from Alliander.
