Senvion enters Ireland with first win

IRELAND: German turbine manufacturer Senvion has won its first Irish contract, supplying infrastructure investor NTR with machines for a project in County Meath, north-east Ireland.

Senvion will deliver five MM82 2.05MW turbines to Ireland for the first time

Senvion will manufacture five MM82 2.05MW turbines for the 10.25MW Teevurcher project.

Delivery is expected to begin over the summer, and the project is due online by the end of the year.

"The Republic of Ireland offers promising opportunities for Senvion, and we look forward to building on further success," said CEO Jurgen Geissinger.

Senvion will be exhibiting at the Irish Wind Energy Association's spring conference at the end of March, it said, after entering the market with this supply deal.

NTR previously ordered Senvion turbines for the 26.7MW Quixwood Moor project in southern Scotland, UK, due online later this yaer.
