The German manufacturer said the move was a result of efficiency measures and was being made to keep costs down.

In a statement to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç, a spokesman for the manufacturer said: "Siemens Wind Power is planning reductions at its blades plant in Aalborg. Approximately 75 employees are expected to be informed with effect from 1 February 2017, and approximately another 75 employees with effect from 1 April 2017.

"In order to remain cost competitive in the global wind industry, Siemens Wind Power aims to increase efficiency in its production, in addition to other cost reduction measures.

"Many of these efficiency and cost reduction activities are starting to show results and therefore, Siemens Wind Power is now able to implement the current workload with fewer people.

"Siemens Wind Power employs a total of 2,241 people in Aalborg. So it is a reduction of approximately 7% of the current team."

The site at Aalborg was used to train Siemens' new recruits at its blade plant in Hull, UK, which has hired 700 workers in the last two years.

The move comes in the same month foundations manufacturer Bladt Industries announced it would from its Aalborg manufacturing site as activity falls off this year.
