Siemens will manufacture and deliver 16 SWT-3.6-130 and one SWT-3.0-108 to the Uljin project in the Gyeongsangbuk project on South Korea's east coast.
The 3.6MW turbines will be installed on a range of tower heights of 85-115 metres, while the 3MW machine will be installed at a 71-metre hub height.
Delivery is due in spring 2018, with completion expected by the end of that year. Siemens will also provide servicing to the turbines for a further ten years.
According to the manufacturer, it is Siemens' second order from SK D&D. In 2014, the real estate and renewable energy project developer ordered Siemens turbines for the 30MW Gasiri project on Jeju island.
Siemens unveiled the new 3.6MW turbines at the WindEnergy Hamburg 2016 exhibition in September. It is aimed at medium-wind IEC ll sites and set for serial production early next year.
