UL’s renewable energy services are focused on testing, inspection and certification, together with the performance verification of wind, solar and energy storage systems.
New York-based AWS Truepower provides project advice, performance engineering, due diligence, and information services for renewable energy projects.
"There is a strong alignment between the two brands," said Jeffrey Smidt, vice-president and general manager for UL Energy & Power Technologies.
"As the market for renewable energy increases and demands a full lifecycle service offering, the combined portfolios enable us to capture additional business globally."
AWS Truepower will continue to operate under its own name for the time being.
