The 25 leading wind-asset owners have seen market share fall in recent years

The fragmentation of wind asset ownership is increasing in pace, Make reported, with smaller owners acquiring a growing share of existing and new wind projects.

The trend is particularly pronounced in Europe, and the Middle East and Africa, and Asia-Pacific regions, said Make.

By contrast, the big players in the US have increased their share of the country’s wind assets in recent years.

Seven of the world's top ten wind asset owners are now based in China.
