Windicator Data - July 2016

GLOBAL: Latest forecast installed and operating wind power capacity around the world (MW) from January 2016 to 1 July 2016, plus our unique Feelgood Factor.

Where is wind power developing, and where does it have the brightest future?

Every month, we analyse the latest available statistics on wind installations from around the world and measure them against information held in the “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence database of operating and planned wind farms.

The resulting table gives a monthly update on the cumulative and recent wind-power capacity delivering power to the grid, in every country that has more than 100MW installed.  We have also included all the North American states/provinces with more than 100MW installed.

Feelgood Factor

“uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç’s five-star Feelgood Factor on all the countries with more than 100MW installed, and the biggest North American states, indicates the prospects for near-term growth in wind power generation. The rating is based on a combination of the four key defining factors:

Projects under development;
Political and policy support;
Investor confidence; and
Structural readiness of the country, in terms of grid infrastructure, permitting process and local supply-chain considerations.

The final rating is an amalgam of all these factors. Further details on the key markets are published in the annual Market Status Report.
