Scotland injects £1.5m into OWA

UK: The Carbon Trust has been awarded £1.5 million (€1.9 million) by the Scottish government to aid companies through the offshore wind accelerator (OWA) programme.

New Scottish energy minister Paul Wheelhouse said: "Previous Scottish government support for the OWA has helped develop new ideas in key areas of importance to companies operating in Scottish waters and I have no doubt this new funding will help firms to continue this important work.

"I will be attending Renewable UK's Global Offshore Wind Conference on Wednesday in Manchester where I look forward to discussing not only this important announcement but the Scottish Government's continued support for this important part of the renewables sector," Wheelhouse added.

Since it was set up in 2008, the OWA has also supported the development of , ,  and for projects in the UK and Europe.
