The manufacturer will install its Energy Thrust software on 600kW, 850kW and 2MW Gamesa platforms across 54 Iberdrola projects in Spain, Portugal, Italy, Hungary, Romania, Greece and Cyprus, said Gamesa.
The software is designed to increase production from turbines by 5%. It has been "endorsed" by classification body DNV GL.
Energy Thrust, designed as a retrofit for older turbines, allows each machine to be tailored to its surroundings, enabling it to operate more often at optimum output.
Gamesa has already installed the Energy Thrust software on nearly 2,000 turbines – totalling 3.45GW of capacity in 14 countries.
