Gamesa 4.5MW turbines will repower Bonus site

GERMANY: Gamesa has won a contract from developer Energiekontor to repower the 11MW Debstedt wind project near Bremerhaven, northern Germany.

Gamesa G128-4.5MW turbine will be used at the Debstedt site in northern Germany

The site currently comprises 11 Bonus 1MW turbines, according to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the research and data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç.

The Debstedt project has been in operation since 1998.

Gamesa will supply three G128-4.5MW turbines to replace eight of the Bonus turbines, boosting the project's nameplate capacity from 11MW to 16.5MW. Annual output from the site will be doubled, according to Gamesa.

This is the first time Gamesa has won an order for the G128-4.5MW turbine in Germany.

Delivery is expected in August and the work should be completed by the end of the year.
