Moventas agrees Brazil O&M partnership

BRAZIL: Gearbox specialist Moventas has signed an operations and maintenance partnership deal with local gearbox firm Zanini Renk, the Finnish firm's first move into the Brazilian servicing market.

Moventas and Zanini will carry out field repairs of wind turbine gearboxes in Brazil

Zanini Renk will become an authorised service partner for Moventas in Brazil.

Moventas and Zanini will provide spare parts, onsite and uptower support, and workshop servicing to most types of wind turbine gearbox.

Zanini Renk's main factory is located in Cravinhos, Sao Paulo, and it runs a service hub in northeast Brazil, where much of the country's wind capacity is installed, Moventas said.

Mauro Cardoso, Zanini CEO, said the deal represents a breakthrough for Brazil's wind industry.

The announcement was made at Brazil “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç 2015, taking place in Sao Paulo, 1-3 September 2015.

In May, Moventas opened a gearbox workshop in Minnesota, US, its fourth in North America.
