Dong and ScottishPower Renewables jointly developed West of Duddon Sands, which was in October. The project uses 108 Siemens 3.6MW turbines
The developers have agreed a deal with a consortium comprising investment groups Macquarie Corporate Holdings and 3i infrastructure. Dong said the value of the assets, including onshore and offshore substations and export cables, totals £269 million (€376 million).
The consortium was selected by UK energy regulator Ofgem following a tender in July 2014.
As part of the UK's offshore transmission owner (OFTO) regime, the assets related to a project's grid link must be sold to a third party.
The owner of the transmission link is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the link between a wind project and the national grid.
