Wind Prospect will place a team at the project site to help prepare a tender and manage the project construction contract and aid turbine procurement over two and a half years.
The 50MW wind farm is planned for a site 150 kilometres east of the captital Astana. It is set to become Kazakhstan's first wind project.
Construction is expected to commence in June 2016, with completion due 12 to 24 months later.
Yereymentau is being backed by a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). The project has the potential to expand to up to 300MW, according to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, the research and data division of “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç.
In 2014, the head of the department for housing and communal service and energy in the Kazakh government said it would invest $150 million in six new wind projects. They would be located in the north of the country and expected online by 2018.
