Deutsche Windtechnik acquires SeebaWind Service

GERMANY: Turbine servicing firm Deutsche Windtechnik has acquired 100% of rival company SeebaWind Service for an undisclosed fee.

Deutsche Windtechnik has acquired the shares of SeebaWind Service

The acquisition will increase the Deutsche Windtechnik portfolio of service contracts to 2,542 turbines. Its workforce will also increase by 75.

SeebaWind's management, headquarters and 23 service facilities around Germany will continue to operate under the Windtechnik umbrella.

Windtechnik also said the SeebaWind Service company name will continue "for the time being at least".

SeebaWind specialises in the service of Nordex, Senvion and Fuhrlander turbines. Windtechnik said the acquisition means it can expand its service to these manufacturers. It focuses on Vestas/NEG Micon and Siemens/Bonus turbines, it said.

Deutsche Windtechnik chairman Matthias Brandt said the takeover would also help with the company's plan to grow internationally and in the offshore market.
