Suzlon wins 90MW deal in India

INDIA: Suzlon has been awarded a turnkey order for a 90MW project in India from Renew Power.

Order specifies Suzlon's S97 2.1MW low-wind turbine

The contract is for 43 S97 2.1MW low-wind turbines to go to the Ellutla wind project in Ananthpur district in Andhra Pradesh. Suzlon has not said when the project would be completed.

It has a 10-year service deal.

It is the second deal Suzlon has announced for the S97 in recent weeks. Last month, the company was awarded a 98MW turbine order by Mytrah Energy to supply a project in Telangana, southern India.

India is set to overtake Spain this year to become the fourth-largest wind market in the world behind China, the US and Germany.

A total of 2,315MW was installed last year, a little less than in 2011 and 2012, but comfortably outstripping 2013's figure of 1,829MW, to bring India's cumulative capacity to nearly 22.5GW.
