SgurrEnergy signs Chilean partnerships

CHILE: SgurrEnergy has signed agreements with two companies in Chile to help develop renewable energy projects in the country.

SgurrEnergy has experience supporting projects in emerging markets, including Bangui Bay in the Philippines

Sgurr has partnered with local consultancy firms Coener and Mankuk, with a view to provide services to the wind and solar markets there.

Coener CEO Luis Ljubetic said: "This collaboration with Sgurr Energy will provide strength to our market offering and will enable us to bring a wider range of services to the developing Chilean renewables market."

2014 was a breakthrough year for Chile with its installed capacity jumping by almost 250%. It is expected to make further gains from a series of government-run tenders.

The government has set a target of producing 20% of electricity from renewable sources by 2025.

SgurrEnergy has gained experience in supporting renewable projects in developing markets. It has advised on projects in Chile, the Philippines, India and Mongolia.
