Suzlon wins 98MW Indian deal

INDIA: Suzlon has been awarded a 98MW turbine order by Mytrah Energy to supply a project in Telangana, southern India.

Suzlon has installed 8.6GW in India

The manufacturer will supply and install 47 S97 2.1MW turbines to the site, along with its 120-metre hybrid tower for low wind sites. The project is expected online next year.

According to Suzlon, the contract is part of a 1GW partnership agreement signed between the two companies in May 2010.

Suzlon installed its first 120-metre tubular steel hybrid tower in Gujarat, west India, in November. The lattice and tubular tower is designed to increase energy output by 12-14% compared to a 90-metre tower, Suzlon said.

Mytrah Energy is a UK-based, India-focused independent power producer with a wind portfolio of 543MW across six Indian states.
