Energy regulator Ofgem has named TCP as the preferred bidder for the offshore transmission owner licence (OFTO). TCP will be responsible for the project's transmission assets, such as cables and substations, under a long-term contract.
According to Ofgem's notice, TCP must demonstrate it has secured enough funding for the contract before it can be awarded the licence.
In September 2014, the European Investment Bank (EIB) said it would a total of €252 million in finance the to the successful bidders of the Westermost Rough and Humber Gateway OFTO licences.
In November, TCP was awarded the by Ofgem for the 270MW Lincs offshore project.
TCP also owns the transmission links for the 180MW Robin Rigg, 172MW Gunfleet Sands, 90MW Barrow and the 150MW Ormonde projects.
The final Siemens 6MW turbine was installed at Westermost Rough in March. The project is located eight kilometers off England's northeast coast.
