The servicing was carried out using vessels and technicians supplied by UK-based offshore contractor Seajacks. Sheringham Shoal uses Siemens 3.6MW turbines.
According to Seajacks, it is the first time a major component has been exchanged on a Siemens offshore turbine without Siemens managing the project and providing the heavy lift team within the UK.
The project came online in 2012. It is co-owned by Statkraft and Statoil, although the Green Investment Bank bought a 20% stake in the project in November last year.
