Norway's 1GW orders help to make Europe busiest region for turbine deals. “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç's summary of turbine contracts by country, Q1 2015 (MW)

The health of the industry can be gauged by the flow of turbine orders, and the map shows those recorded between the start of the year and 13 March. The total was 5,486 MW - significantly more (over 50%) than recorded during the last quarter of 2014.

Europe led the way with 2,400MW, followed by North America (1,000MW), Asia-Pacific (578MW) Latin America (746MW), then the Middle East/Africa (700MW). Of particular note was an order for 360MW for South Africa, while the Brazilian total was 686MW, confirming that the surge there is continuing. A notable order in Europe was 1,000MW for Norway, which has hitherto been fairly modest in its ambitions.
