DBB working on Borkum Riffgrund 1

GERMANY: DBB's jack-up vessel has started work on the 312MW Borkum Riffgrund 1 project in the German North Sea.

The project will be made up of Siemens 3.6MW turbines

The new, purpose-built Wind Server vessel was commissioned by Siemens to perform offshore installation support and function as accommodation for Siemens commissioning teams working on the project.

DBB Jack-Up took delivery of the Wind Server in late December 2014 and the vessel recently completed its first operation, decommissioning a met mast on the Horns Rev 1 project in Denmark. From March 2016, the Wind Server will commence a three-year charter for Siemens Wind Power.

The project is being developed by Dong Energy, along with investment firms Kirkbi and William Demant Invest. It comprises 78 Siemens 3.6MW turbines. Work has already started at the project, and it is due to be completed before the end of the year.
