Palfinger wins Gemini crane order

NETHERLANDS: Palfinger Marine has been awarded the contract by Siemens to deliver 150 cranes to the 600MW Gemini project in the Dutch North Sea.

Palfinger will supply 150 cranes to the Gemini project

Palfinger will supply the project with its PF6000 electric fixed boom crane to help transfer equipment from vessel to turbine.

The service company has previously supplied cranes to the Anholt and projects, also in the North Sea.

The Northland Power-owned project is using 150 Siemens 4MW turbine with a 130-metre rotor. Siemens Financial Services owns 20% of the project.

, EPC contractor and 10% project owner Van Oord awarded VBMS the a cabling contract at the project.
