Prysmian handed Wikinger inter array deal

GERMANY: Prysmian has won the contract to supply inter array cables at Iberdrola's 350MW Wikinger project in the German Baltic Sea.

Prysmian will supply the inter array cables for Wikinger

Under the €60 million contract, Prysmian will design, install and test the 81 kilometres of 33kV cables. Manufacturing will take place at Prysmian's Norwegian facility and installation is due to be completed in 2016.

They will be used to connect the 70 turbines together and to the substation.

In December, Iberdrola handed fellow Spanish firm the contract to build jacket foundations for the project.

In May 2014, Prysmian was handed a €730 million contract by German transmission group 50Hertz to supply to projects in the West of Adlergrund cluster, which includes Wikinger.
