Seatower installation delayed

FRANCE: The timetable for installing the demonstrator of Seatower's gravity-based foundation at the Fécamp site, 13 kilometres off the French coast, has been delayed to late January or early February.

While not giving any reason for the delay, CEO Petter Karal says the project is going proceeding, with "no particular surprises or problems in the construction and operations that we have conducted so far".

He added the Seatower is now completing the planning and approvals for the installation.

The foundation, which is currently afloat in Le Havre harbour, will be towed to the site by conventional tug boats supplied by Spain's Boluda Offshore. Seatower claims the installation process will reduce costs and project risks.

The foundation and met mast was contracted by Eolien Maritime France (EMF), owned by EDF Energies Nouvelles and Dong, which is developing the 498MW Fécamp project. Seatower said it will bid for the recently launched .
