The two new vessels will be manufactured by Norwegian ship builder Ulstein Verft at its shipyard in Ulsteinvik.
They will be used to service the Gemini, Sandbank and DanTysk offshore wind projects in the German North Sea. They are expected to be operational in 2016 and 2017, in line with the commissioning dates of Gemini and Sandbank.
Siemens is set to start using its first two service operations vessels this year. They were commissioned specifically for the Butendiek and Baltic II offshore wind projects in German waters.
