Nordex wins second Lithuanian deal

LITHUANIA: Nordex has received a 45MW order from a Lithuanian-based energy fund for a project in the north-west of the country.

Nordex will supply its N117 turbine to the project

The order is for 19 N117 2.4MW low wind turbines, with 120-metre towers, for the Mazeikiai project. The deal includes a 15-year servicing contract.

According to Nordex the turbines are set to be delivered by spring 2015. The customer is UAB, a company part-owned by Orion Alternative Energy.

In September, Nordex first entered the Lithuanian market after securing a deal with local developer Eurakras to supply turbines to the 24MW Jurbarkas project.

The deal was for eight N117/3000 turbines to go the project in west Lithuania next year.

According to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç's Windicator, Lithuania currently has a capacity of 279MW.
