The Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry said the government has already asked the country's project owner to curtail production between 23:00 to 7:00.
According to an official explanation of the Ministry, operations of all wind farms in Ukraine is balanced with the operations of the country's thermal plants.
Currently, some of the Ukranian thermal power plants are experiencing problems securing fuel, which poses a threat of a crisis in the country's grid.
According to state plans, one of the potential ways to solve the problem is to start more active use of the country's nuclear power plants, and temporary decommissioning of 60MW of capacities of wind energy.
In the meantime, such a proposal has already sparked criticism in the Ukranian Association of Wind Power, according to which, in addition to direct losses, such shutdowns of generation will raise operating costs and lead to a deterioration of the turbines.
Unofficial sources in the Ukranian government said the decision can be explained by many projects' close location to territory controlled by pro-Russian rebels.
Earlier this month, the Ukrainian government issued a state decree calling for the country's wind capacity to reach 2.28GW by 2020, an increase of 500% on current figure of 410MW.
