The deal is GE's first wind turbine order in the country. The company will provide 33 1.5-82.5MW turbines to the project in southern Pakistan and will provide ten years servicing.
The 49.5MW Sapphire project received financial backing from the US government's Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), which helps fund infrastructure projects abroad.
Last year, OPIC arranged a $95 million credit facility to help build the project.
HydroChina was appointed equipment, procurement and construction contractor for the project in September 2012 and a groundbreaking ceremony took place in September 2014.
Pakistan hopes to source 5% of its electricity from renewable energy projects by 2030.
