The guidelines have been written to help project developers with planning and construction of sites in a bid to improve safety.
The report highlights a range of vessels available to work on offshore projects and provides detail on suitability of the vessel, depending on the nature of the project.
It also gives advice to developers and contractors and subcontractors on health and safety considerations when selecting a vessel.
Crown Estate head of offshore wind Huub den Rooijen said the new release could bring down the cost of offshore projects by "ensuring that health and safety strategies are fully integrated into the lifecycle of projects".
At the beginning of September, the Crown Estate released a report stating between developers and vessel firms increase revenues by £110 million a year (EUR 141 million).
