The US manufacturer will install 56 of its 1.7-100 turbines on the development near Akhfennir in southern Morocco. This is GE's first wind turbine supply contract in Morocco.
GE said that the power generated by the project will be bought under a power purchase agreement specifically intended to support industrial companies.
Energie Eolienne du Maroc is a developer of wind projects and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Moroccan firm Nareva Holding.
Alstom supplied the turbines for the Akhfennir 1 project also developed by Nareva, and which came online in 2013.
Nareva is also working on the 300MW Tarfaya project with GDF Suez, which is in the process of being commissioned in stages.
Morocco is making a big push into wind power, adding 203MW last year to bring its installed capacity to 495MW. The government intends to reach 2GW by 2020.
Earlier this month, Moroccan state utility ONEE received five bids to develop, design, finance, construct, operate and maintain five facilities totalling 850MW under a build, own, operate and transfer (BOOT) contract for a 20-year term.
