Nordex seals 57.6MW deal

GERMANY: Nordex has been awarded a 57.6MW deal from developer PNE Wind to deliver and install turbines at the Chransdorf project in north-east Germany.

Nordex will install 24 N117/2400 turbines at the Chransdorf project

The German manufacturer will supply 24 N117/2400 turbines to the project in the state of Brandenburg, where installation could start in November. Commissioning is expected next autumn.

It is the largest individual order in Germany for Nordex to date, the company claimed. PNE Wind said Chransdorf would also be its largest onshore project ever.

Lars Bondo Krogsgaard, chief commercial officer of sales at Nordex, said the deal showed business in the sector is still strong despite the introduction of a new renewables law in Germany in August.

The new Renewable Energy Act caps onshore wind expansion at 2.5GW per year, not including net additions from repowering projects.

Earlier this month, PNE announced plans to raise capital to help build onshore wind farms in Germany.
