Pfeister joins the consultancy firm from the Offshore Wind Development Coalition — a group working to develop policies and initiatives for offshore projects in the US.
Previously, Pfeister worked for offshore developer NRG Bluewater on its project, located off the coast of Delaware. The project failed to secure financing and federal loan guarrantees. It is currently dormant.
US PMSS also said Pfeister was part of the group to secure the New Jersey offshore wind economic development act in 2010. The act provides financial incentives for offshore projects.
The US is still waiting to have its first commercial offshore projects installed its waters.
Two projects are closest to becoming reality are Deepwater Wind's 30MW project in Rhode Island, and the 468MW project in Massachusetts.
