The former oil fabrication yard has received all permits and permissions to allow its development to begin with a view to opening to new businesses next year.
The port is 22 kilometres from the city of Inverness in the Scottish highlands on the east coast, close to the 750MW Beatrice and 1.1GW Moray Firth offshore wind projects.
The port's CEO Captain Steve Gobbi said the site could now move forward with dredging activities and other onshore site works.
"There are few, if any, vacant sites of this scale in the northern North Sea offering deep water access and the potential to undertake manufacturing, assembly, operations, maintenance and decommissioning from a single location," Gobbi said.
The site is now completely vacant and looking for companies and investors for development help. Despite being without a confirmed deal yet, a spokesperson for the port told “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç there had been several positive meetings with offshore wind firms.
The port has been supported through the consenting process by Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE), the Scottish Government's economic and community development agency.
