The total investment in the project being built by French-developer Valorem is estimated at EUR 250 million and is expected to be commissioned in 2019-2020.
Details of the WKN project are yet to be disclosed. Both projects are believed to be in the early stages of development. According to “uåX˜äŠÊ˜·³Ç Intelligence, neither company currently owns a project in the country.
Both developments will be built in the Ovidiopolsky area of the Odessa region. Valorem has a history of using Senvion turbines while WKN has used a mixture of manufacturers including Enercon and Vestas.
Valorem and WKN Windkraft Nord AG are not the only companies from the EU, which expressed an interest in building projects in Ukraine.
Earlier this year, Compagnie Nationale du Rhône (CNR), one of France's largest energy companies, announced development in the Zaporizhzhya region of Ukraine. It cost about EUR 70 million and have the capacity of 50MW.
