The project is planned to have approximately 50 turbines and EDF said it has the potential to become France's largest onshore project in terms of capacity.
The current largest project in France is 140MW Fruges project in northern France. The Le Mont des 4 Faux project has the potential for approximately 50 turbines, with an expected minimum turbine capacity of 3MW, meaning the project could have an approximate 150MW capacity.
Work on developing the project began in 2006, but it is yet to obtain the necessary reports, authorisation and planning consent.
A spokesperson from EDF-EN said the project is now 100% owned by the French developer, but WindVision will continue to help on the project. WindVision has the option to buy up 50% of the project back from EDF once it is operational.
The project's total capacity will not be determined until after a tender to define the total number of turbines and their power, the spokesperson added.
WindVision, a Belgian-Dutch developer, said EDF-EN's expertise in developing "complex" projects would help the chances of the project's completion.
It is not the first time the French developer has joined with a foreign company to develop wind projects in France.
In July 2013, EDF-EN partnered Mitsubishi subsidiary Diamond Generating Europe to develop four small wind projects in northern France.
