The underwater noise impact assessment originally considered a worst case scenario of the installation of 10MW turbines, with the foundations being installed with the largest hydraulic hammers available.
The installation of 6MW and 8MW turbines have now been included in the assessment. The 400MW Horns Rev 3 is planned for a site in the North Sea, off Denmark's west coast, and is set to come online in 2020.
In April, the Danish government chose ABB and Prysmian to supply the cables for Horns Rev 3.
ABB will supply and install the offshore transmission cables for the 400MW project. The contract is for the burying of 33 kilometres of cable at a cost of DKK 215 million (EUR 28.8 million).
