Senvion is testing components for a 6.2MW offshore wind turbine at an onshore site in Flensburg following construction at the Bremerhaven facility.

To transfer the 330 tonne nacelle and the rotor hub from Senvion's Bremerhaven facilities at the end of May, they were loaded on to the flatbed trolley and taken to the pontoon.

They were then was shipped to the harbour at Dagebüll in Schlezwig Holsten, put on a truck for a short drive to Flensburg, where they were erected on a tower, and fitted with a 126 metre rotor. Testing of second and third source components has now begun.

The offshore turbine is owned by ReCap, and Senvion has a three-part contract: for construction; O&M and testing; and certification of the turbine.
